Mumbai, Aug 26: Pakistani model-turned-actress Humaima Malik, who will be seen in Shoaib Mansoor’s ‘Bol’, releasing next week, is not amused by being constantly linked with cricketer Wasim Akram.

‘Wasim has kids, I’ve a family. We’re both answerable to people in our lives. It becomes very embarrassing for me to be known as Wasim Akram’s girlfriend. I hate to be known by that identity. I’m a celebrity in my own right,’ said Humaima while speaking from Lahore on phone.

‘Just because I’m a girl, do I need to be identified by the presence of a man in my life?’

During the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches earlier this year, Humaima says she had to cancel her trip to India to support Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkta Knight Riders (KKR) team because of the loud whispers about her and Wasim.

‘I was coming here to support KKR, not because Wasim was the team’s coach. Unfortunately the Indian press went to town linking my visit to Wasim. I had to cancel my trip,’ she said.

The Isha Koppikar starrer SHABRI may be an RGV product, what with SHABRI being made under RGV banner, but the prolific filmmaker hardly made any rounds on the sets of SHABRI or gave any inputs while the making of the film.

An inside source revealed, "RGV did not ever visit the sets of SHABRI. In fact one of the key actors once called and complained to him about the firm handling meted out to him by the Director suggesting that RGV intervene."

When RGV came to know about this fact the same evening impressed RGV immediately called up SHABRI director Lalit Marathe and complemented him saying, "All seems to be going well on the sets!"

Later when Lalit showed his mentor few rushes of the film in rough cut stage, RGV was totally taken in by it and was all praise of Lalit’s work and spontaneously said that SHABRI is far superior to (his own film) SATYA.

Well after the words coming straight from the horse’s mouth (RGV himself) we now know what to expect from the upcoming release SHABRI!

RGV deserves standing ovation: Mahesh Bhatt

Posted under Bollywood,Entertainment,Tollywood by Vincent on Wednesday 17 August 2011 at 3:18 pm

New Delhi, Aug 17 (IANS) Acclaimed filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt describes Ram Gopal Varma as a ‘man who has audacity’, and says he should be given a standing ovation for making an ‘outstanding’ film like ‘Not A Love Story’, which releases Friday.

‘Ram Gopal Varma deserves a standing ovation for making an outstanding film, ‘NOT A LOVE STORY’ raises the bar for Indian Cinema,’ Bhatt posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

He watched the film Tuesday. The movie, which features Deepak Dobriyal and Mahie Gill, is inspired by the 2008 murder case of television executive Neeraj Grover, that led to the arrest of Kannada actress Maria Susairaj and co-accused, ex-naval officer Emile Jerome Mathew.

Maria, who was sentenced to three years in jail by a Mumbai court for destroying evidence, was released from jail last month after she completed the term in detention. Emile Jerome was sentenced to 10 years jail term after the court found him ‘guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder’.

Bhatt, known for films like ‘Arth’, ‘Saaransh’, ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke’ and ‘Zakhm’, is quite confident the film will be appreciated.

‘Ramu uses a brand new technology in this film. This film will certainly be a game changer. ‘Not a love story’ is an audacious work of a filmmaker who wants to touch the audience rather than impress them. Its world view moves u. Ramgopal Verma’s ‘Not a love story’…is actually a great love story,’ he added.

The movie has been in news as Maria sent a legal notice to Varma questioning the content of the film.
